People in the Past: Ancient Greek Children

Richard Tames. Reed Educational and Professional Publishing, 2003. ISBN: 978-1403401311

Plot Summary: This is a non fiction work covering the children of ancient Greece. The book contains 21 chapters covering topics such as : slavery, toys and games, babies, growing up, and how do we know?

Critical Evaluation: This book would be a good resource for students studying the time period. While some of the pages are a little dense with text, for the most part the language is clear and has an appropriate vocabulary level for the tween age group. There are also a great deal of illustrations and photographs of artifacts that provide visual interest.

Reader's Annotation: An non-fiction work about the children and their daily lives in ancient Greece.
